Description
MuA transposase, derived from the MuA gene of bacteriophage Mu (Bacteriophage Mu), catalyzes the insertion of the phage's DNA into the host genome, or excises it for transfer to other locations. It binds to the ends of the transposon in a tetrameric form, creating a stable transposome structure. MuA transposase is suitable for applications like preparing mutant clones and cloning circular DNA.
