Description
(R) -Doxazosin ((R) -UK 33274) is an isomer of Doxazosin, a selective oral a1-adrenoceptor agonist. Doxazosin is utilized for systemic antihypertensive and ocular hypotensive purposes. It achieves its antihypertensive effect by selectively blocking postsynaptic a1 receptors, reducing total peripheral resistance without impacting cardiac output. Doxazosin significantly lowers both standing and supine blood pressure.
