NCGC00238624 is a selective inhibitor of galactokinase (GALK1), exhibiting IC50 values of 7.69 μM for human recombinant GALK1 and 13.67 μM for mouse recombinant GALK1. At a concentration of 10 μM, NCGC00238624 shows no activity against GALK2 or other kinases. This compound can be used for research on classic galactosemia.
