S-Secoantioquine is an open-ring dibenzylisoquinoline derivative. In vitro studies using rat striatal membranes indicate it has weak affinity for D1-like receptors (labeled by [3H]SCH 23390) but shows some binding activity at D2-like receptors (labeled by [3H]raclopride) . This profile makes it a candidate for research into dopamine receptor pharmacology and neurochemical studies.
