Nifekalant (MS-551) is a selective IKr potassium channel blocker (IC50 = 10 μM) used as a research tool for studying cardiac arrhythmias. Its application extends to in vitro electrophysiology and in vivo models for investigating mechanisms and potential treatments of supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias.
