Compound 11 is an orally active small molecule antagonist of the α4 integrin receptor. It potently blocks α4β1/VCAM-1 and α4β7/MAdCAM-1 mediated cell adhesion in vitro and is a candidate for investigating inflammatory bowel disease in preclinical models like DSS-induced colitis.
