6-Hydroxykynurenic acid (6-HKA) is a natural kynurenic acid derivative isolated from Ginkgo biloba leaves. It acts as a low-affinity NMDA receptor antagonist (IC50 = 59 μM) and is used in neuroscience research to study excitatory neurotransmission, neuroprotection, and related pathways in vitro.
