Description
Tyrothricin is a natural polypeptide antibiotic complex composed of gramicidin and tyrocidine. It disrupts the cell membranes of Gram-positive bacteria and is used in topical applications for skin infections. This compound is also employed in biochemical research to study antimicrobial mechanisms and membrane interactions in vitro.
