Description
Mabuterol (R-isomer) is a selective β2-adrenergic receptor agonist. Research indicates it lowers blood pressure in rats while increasing heart rate and contractile force in guinea pigs, and it inhibits the positive inotropic effect of isoprenaline in vitro. This makes it a useful pharmacological tool for studying β2-adrenoceptor function and cardiovascular physiology.
