Description
Thalicarpine is a natural aporphine benzylisoquinoline alkaloid with antineoplastic properties. It functions by inhibiting the p-glycoprotein efflux pump, inducing DNA single-strand breaks, and causing cell cycle arrest at G1 and G2/M phases. Research applications include in vitro studies of multidrug resistance and in vivo investigations of its antitumor efficacy.
