Minnelide is a water-soluble prodrug of tretinoin with demonstrated anticancer activity, inducing apoptosis and protecting podocytes. It has shown efficacy in inhibiting cervical cancer growth in vitro and in vivo by counteracting HPV-mediated dysregulation of p53 and pRb pathways.
