Description
Pyrazofurin is a pyrimidine nucleoside analog that potently inhibits orotate phosphoribosyltransferase (OPRT), a component of UMP synthase, thereby blocking de novo pyrimidine synthesis and cellular proliferation. It has demonstrated inhibitory activity in vitro (e.g., Hep-2, HNSCC cell lines) and has been investigated in vivo for its antitumor and antiviral potential in research studies.
