9 (S) -HpOTrE is a 5-lipoxygenase-derived hydroperoxy fatty acid from α-linolenic acid. It is a key intermediate in plant oxylipin pathways, serving as a substrate for divinyl ether synthase to form colnelenic acid and for further LOX oxidation. This compound is used in vitro to study lipoxygenase mechanisms, including enzyme inactivation.
