D, L-erythro-PDMP is a stereoisomer of PDMP that potently inhibits UDP-glucose:ceramide glucosyltransferase (GlcCer synthase) . This activity underlies its observed growth inhibition in rabbit skin fibroblast cultures and its utility as a research tool for studying glycosphingolipid metabolism in cellular models.
