Nucleolar Protein, 180kD (xNopp180)

• Storage Conditions:

  May be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20 °C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

• Specificity:

  Stains specifically the nucleolus and Cajal bodies in interphase cells. Recognizes 180kD polypeptide in Xenopus (xNopp180), homolog to the rat polypeptide (Nopp140). When applied at high concentration to human cells the antibody reacts with a nucleolar component which, however, does not correspond to xNopp180. Species Crossreactivity: Xenopus laevis, Xenopus borealis, XLKE-A6 cells; negative with Pleurodelis, Triturus, Rana, chicken, rat, mouse.
