Storage Conditions
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 °C. Stable for 12 months at -20 °C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 °C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Specificity
Recognizes human C5b-9 complexes via activated C5, especially in different forms of glomerulonephritis. Does not react with native C5 (See C7850-23). Normal fresh and activated serum subjected to SDS-PAGE Western Blot (nonreduced), visualizes reactivity with the SDS-denatured C5 (200kD) abd C5b (185kD), the latter together with a faint cleavage product (60kD) only after activation.
