Description
Ecdysone is a key insect steroid hormone that induces apoptosis by activating the mineralocorticoid receptor. Its signaling via the Ecdysone receptor isoform B1 is cell-autonomously required for programmed muscle death, making it a critical tool for studying developmental biology and cell death mechanisms in both in vitro and in vivo models.
