Description
Busulfan is a dimethane sulfonate-derived alkylating agent that exerts cytotoxic and immunosuppressive effects by forming reactive carbonium ions, leading to DNA cross-linking and damage. It is widely used as a myeloablative conditioning agent for bone marrow transplantation and in research to establish animal models of anemia and study DNA damage mechanisms.
