Description
Sesamol (1,3-Benzodioxol-5-ol) is a research compound shown to mitigate lung injury and inflammation in rat models by activating AMPK/Nrf2 pathways and inhibiting NF-κB/MAPK signaling. It also reduces melanogenesis in melan-a cells by downregulating MITF and tyrosinase activity, involving p38 and JNK phosphorylation. This makes it applicable for studying oxidative stress, inflammatory diseases, and skin pigmentation mechanisms in both in vivo and in vitro systems.
