Thalidezine is a novel AMPK activator that induces autophagic cell death in apoptosis-resistant cancer cells, such as mouse L1210 cells in vitro. It also exhibits antimicrobial activity against Mycobacterium smegmatis at concentrations ≤100 μg/ml, supporting research in oncology and microbiology.
