Coelenterazine is a chemiluminescent substrate for Renilla luciferase and apoaequorin, widely used to detect superoxide anion and peroxynitrite. It enables real-time monitoring of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species in both in vitro assays and in vivo imaging studies.
