Tylosin

Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic that is tylonolide having mono- and diglycosyl moieties attached to two of its hydroxy groups. It is found naturally as a fermentation product of Streptomyces fradiae. It has a role as a xenobiotic, an allergen, a bacterial metabolite and an environmental contaminant. It is an aldehyde, a leucomycin, a macrolide antibiotic, an enone, a disaccharide derivative and a monosaccharide derivative. It is functionally related to a tylactone. It is a conjugate base of a tylosin(1+).
