RABBIT ANTI HUMAN INTERLEUKIN-1RA

  • NCBI Gene ID:

    3557
  • Storage Conditions:

Prior to reconstitution store at 4 °C. After reconstitution store at -20 °C. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 12 months from date of reconstitution.
  • Specificity:

This product specifically recognises human Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1RA), a naturally occurring inflammatory inhibitor protein, produced by monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, corneal epithelial cells and fibroblasts, which inhibits the activity of IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta, by competitively blocking binding to cell surface receptors for IL-1.

Genetic variations in IL-1RA gene (IL1RN) are associated with susceptibility to microvascular complications of diabetes type 4 (MVCD4), and IL-1RA has therapeutic applications in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, psoriasis, sepsis, chronic myelogenous leukaemia and inflammatory bowel disease.
