  This item specifically recognises an epitope within the C-terminal (CT) region of human FOXP2, otherwise known as Forkhead box P2, a highly conserved member of the FOX family of transcription factors, which plays an essential role in brain and lung development.
  Studies have revealed the importance of FOXP2 in mediating the development of speech and language, and mutations in the human FOXP2 gene have been linked to developmental verbal dyspraxia. This antibody is expected to recognise all three reported isoforms.
