RABBIT ANTI WNV CORE PROTEIN (C-TERMINAL)

  • Gene Name:

    [WNV]
  • NCBI Gene ID:

    912267
  • Storage Conditions:

Store at 4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 18 months from date of despatch.
  • Specificity:

This item recognises the 14kDa core protein of West Nile Virus (WNV). WNV belongs to the Flaviviridae family which includes closely viruses such as Dengue fever, Yellow fever and Tick borne encephalitis.

West Nile Virus particles consist of a dense core made up of the core/capsid protein encapsulating the RNA genome surrounded by a membrane envelope containing envelope and matrix proteins. Research indicates that the viral core protein contributes to the WNV-associated inflammation via apoptosis induced though the caspase-9 pathway.

West Nile Virus is spread by mosquitos and is believed to have originated in the West Nile region of Africa but has now spread to Europe, Asia and America where it has become a significant disease affecting human and domestic animal health.
