RABBIT ANTI GluR2
- CAS Number: 9007-83-4
- Gene Name: [GluR2]
- NCBI Gene ID: 29627
- Reactivity: Chicken (Expected from Sequence), Human, Monkey (Expected from Sequence), Mouse (Expected from Sequence), Zebrafish (Expected from Sequence)
- Storage Conditions: Store at 4 °C or at -20 °C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 12 months from date of despatch. - Specificity: This item is specific for glutamate receptor subunit 2 (GluR2), a component of the AMPA (alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxalone propionic acid) group of ionotropic glutamate receptors, which play a key role at excitatory synapses, including synaptic transmission, stabilisation and plasticity.
GluR2 is possibly the most important of the AMPA receptor subunits, responsible for AMPA receptor rectifying properties, control of ion flow and in particular the influx of calcium. The majority of GluR2 in the CNS is expressed in the GluR2(R) form, containing a critical arginine residue (as opposed to a glutamine residue) in the Transmembrane region 2 (TM2) domain, thereby rendering native AMPA receptors impermeable to calcium. - Other Gene Names: [Gria2; Gria2; GluA2; GluR2; gluR-B; GluR-K2; Glur2; GluR-2; GluA2]
