BlokHen® Blocking Reagent
Background:
Our proprietary blocking reagent, BlokHen® is a fish serum-based immunoreagent designed for use with chicken antibodies. It can be used in WB, IHC, ICC, IP, and ELISA.Description:
Our proprietary blocking reagent, BlokHen® is a fish serum-based immunoreagent designed for use with chicken antibodies. It already contains concentrated buffer and non-ionic detergent (tween-20), allowing simple dilution with water. BlokHen® can be used in Western Blots, Immunohistochemistry or Immunocytochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, or ELISA applications.Other Statements:
These antibodies are to be used as research laboratory reagents and are not for use as diagnostic or therapeutic reagents in humans.Applications:

Usage Notes: BlokHen IITM is meant to be diluted with phosphate buffered isotonic saline (PBS) . The extent of dilution will vary from one application to another but should be in the range of 1:5 to 1:20. Western Blots: After transferring proteins from your gel onto nitrocellulose, incubate the membrane with diluted BlokHen IITM for 1 hour at room temperature with gentle agitation. The blots should then be washed for 15 minutes with PBS prior to addition of primary antibody. It is not necessary to dilute your chicken antibodies or secondary anti-chicken IgY reagents with BlokHen IITM. Instead, dilute these reagents in PBS with 0.1% (w/v) of a non-ionic detergent, such as triton X-100 or TWEEN-20. Immunocytochemistry: In a manner similar to that described above for western blots, pre-block your paraformaldehyde-fixed cultured cells or tissue sections with diluted BlokHen IITM for 1 hour at room temperature. Then, wash off the BlokHen IITM with PBS prior to addition of chicken antibodies (diluted in PBS with 0.1% non-ionic detergent) .Format:
