Background: TGA1 (TGACG motif-binding factor 1)is a transcriptional activator which binds to the5'-TGACG-3'DNA sequence. Its binding to the as-1-like cis elements mediatesalicylic acid- andauxin-inducibletranscription. TGA1 interacts with NPR1 and is involved in the induction of the systemic acquired resistance (SAR).
