HB-EGF Proheparin-Binding EGF-like Growth Factor Human Recombinant Protein
Description:
HB-EGF Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 87 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 9.9kDa. The HB-EGF is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.Synonyms:
HBEGF; DTR; DTS; HEGFL; HB-EGF; Diphtheria toxin receptor; DT-R; DTSFGene Name:

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.Reconstitution:
2Function:
Growth factor that mediates its effects via EGFR, ERBB2 and ERBB4. Required for normal cardiac valve formation and normal heart function. Promotes smooth muscle cell proliferation. May be involved in macrophage-mediated cellular proliferation. It is mitogenic for fibroblasts, but not endothelial cells. It is able to bind EGF receptor/EGFR with higher affinity than EGF itself and is a far more potent mitogen for smooth muscle cells than EGF. Also acts as a diphtheria toxin receptor.Shipping Conditions:
AvailableStorage Conditions:
Lyophilized Human HB-EGF Recombinant although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution HB-EGF should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) . Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.Other Gene Names:
Proheparin-binding EGF-like growth factorSubcellular Location:
Heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor: Secreted, extracellular space. Mature HB-EGF is released into the extracellular space and probably binds to a receptor.
