Streptolysin-O Streptococcus Pyogenes Recombinant Protein
Description:
Recombinant Streptococcus Pyogenes Streptolysin-O produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 538 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 60.1kDa. The Streptolysin-O is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.Synonyms:
Streptolysin O; Thiol-activated cytolysin; sloGene Name:

[object Object]Purification:
Greater than 97.0% as determined by (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC and (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.Form:
Sterile Filtered white lyophilized powder.Reconstitution:
2Function:
Sulfhydryl-activated toxin that causes cytolysis by forming pores in cholesterol containing host membranes. After binding to target membranes, the protein undergoes a major conformation change, leading to its insertion in the host membrane and formation of an oligomeric pore complex. Cholesterol may be required for binding to host membranes, membrane insertion and pore formation. Can be reversibly inactivated by oxidation (By similarity) .Shipping Conditions:
AvailableStorage Conditions:
Lyophilized Streptolysin-O although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Streptolysin-O should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) . Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.Other Gene Names:
