Description
ACTH (1–13) contains 13 amino acids, which are the 1st to 13th amino acid fragments of ACTH, and have cytoprotective effects in a model of ethanol-induced gastric injury in rats. It stimulates the adrenal cortex and the secretion of glucocorticoids such as hydrocortisone. ACTH (1–13) is an agonist of melanocortin-3 receptors.
