Mouse LI-Cadherin-17 CDH17 ELISA Kit PicoKine®, Carrier-free

  • Background:

Cadherin-17 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CDH17 gene. It is mapped to 4; 4 A1. This gene is a member of the cadherin superfamily, genes encoding calcium-dependent, membrane-associated glycoproteins. The encoded protein is cadherin-like, consisting of an extracellular region, containing 7 cadherin domains, and a transmembrane region but lacking the conserved cytoplasmic domain. The protein is a component of the gastrointestinal tract and pancreatic ducts, acting as an intestinal proton-dependent peptide transporter in the first step in oral absorption of many medically important peptide-based drugs. The protein may also play a role in the morphological organization of liver and intestine.

There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins.
  • Immunogen:

Expression system for standard: NS0; Immunogen sequence: F26-S827
  • Tissue Specificity:

Highest expression is found in intestine with lower expression in spleen, bone marrow, lung and testis. No expression detected in liver, kidney, heart, brain or skeletal muscle. Expressed in precursor B-cells and myeloid cells.
  • Applications:

    ELISA
  • Standard:

    3 ng/tube
  • Sample Type:

cell culture supernatants, serum and plasma (heparin)
  • Detection Range:

    46.9 pg/ml - 3,000 pg/ml
  • Sensitivity:

    <10 pg/ml
  • Function:

Cadherins are calcium-dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. LI-cadherin may have a role in the morphological organization of liver and intestine.
