Anti-BTG2 Antibody Picoband®

  • Background:

Protein BTG2, also known as BTG family member 2 or NGF-inducible anti-proliferative protein PC3 or NGF-inducible protein TIS21, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the BTG2 gene. The protein encoded by the gene BTG2 is a member of the BTG/Tob family. This protein controls cell cycle progression and proneural genes expression by acting as a transcription coregulator that enhances or inhibits the activity of transcription factors.
  • Description:

Boster Bio Anti-BTG2 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A01461-1. Tested in Flow Cytometry, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.
  • Synonyms:

    Protein BTG2; BTG family member 2; NGF-inducible anti-proliferative protein PC3; BTG2; PC3
  • Gene Name:

    BTG anti-proliferation factor 2
  • UniProt:

    P78543
  • Host:

    Rabbit
  • Reactivity:

    Human
  • Cross Reactivity:

    No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
  • Immunogen:

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the N-terminus of human BTG2, which shares 88.9% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with both mouse and rat BTG2.
  • Clonality:

    Polyclonal
  • Tissue Specificity:

Widely expressed. Detected in adult colon epithelium.
  • Applications:

    Flow Cytometry, WB
  • Field of Research:

Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling, Neurogenesis, Neurology Process, Neuroscience, Transcription
  • Purification:

    Immunogen affinity purified.
  • Concentration:

Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 μg/ml.
  • Form:

    Lyophilized
  • Reconstitution:

Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
  • Function:

Anti-proliferative protein; the function is mediated by association with deadenylase subunits of the CCR4-NOT complex. Activates mRNA deadenylation in a CNOT6 and CNOT7-dependent manner. In vitro can inhibit deadenylase activity of CNOT7 and CNOT8. Involved in cell cycle regulation. Could be involved in the growth arrest and differentiation of the neuronal precursors (By similarity) . Modulates transcription regulation mediated by ESR1. Involved in mitochondrial depolarization and neurite outgrowth.
  • Storage Conditions:

Store at -20°C for one year from date of receipt. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for six months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
  • Fragment:

    Rabbit IgG
  • Applications Notes:

    6
  • Other Gene Names:

    BTG2
  • Subcellular Location:

Cytoplasm, cytosol. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Cell membrane; Distributed throughout the cytosol when the kinase is not activated. Association with microtubules requires activation of the kinase activity. Shuttles between focal adhesions and cell-cell contacts in epithelial cells. Recruited to the lateral cell membrane in polarized epithelial cells by interaction with phosphorylated EZR. Detected at tubular membrane structures in the cytoplasm and at the cell periphery.
  • Protein Name:

    Keratin, type I cytoskeletal 14
