Description
Atosiban is a synthetic peptide antagonist of oxytocin and vasopressin receptors, used clinically to delay preterm labor. It rapidly suppresses uterine contractions by inhibiting phosphoinositide turnover and calcium mobilization in myometrial cells, a mechanism validated in both in vitro and in vivo studies.
