Anti-MC4-R/MC4R Antibody Picoband®, Biotine Conjugate
- Background: Melanocortin receptor 4 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MC4R gene. This gene is mapped to 18q21.32. The protein encoded by this gene is a membrane-bound receptor and member of the melanocortin receptor family. The encoded protein interacts with adrenocorticotropic and MSH hormones and is mediated by G proteins. This is an intronless gene. Defects in this gene are a cause of autosomal dominant obesity.
- Description: Boster Bio Anti-MC4-R/MC4R Antibody catalog # A00619-2. Tested in Flow Cytometry, IF, IHC, ICC, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.
- Synonyms: Melanocortin receptor 4; MC4-R; MC4R

- UniProt: P32245
- Host: Rabbit
- Reactivity: Human,Mouse,Rat
- Cross Reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Immunogen: A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human MC4-R/MC4R, which shares 88.5% and 80.8% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with mouse and rat MC4-R/MC4R, respectively.
- Clonality: Polyclonal
- Applications: Flow Cytometry,IF,IHC,ICC,WB
- Purification: Immunogen affinity purified.
- Concentration: Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 μg/ml.
- Form: Lyophilized
- Reconstitution: Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
- Function: Receptor specific to the heptapeptide core common to adrenocorticotropic hormone and alpha-, beta-, and gamma-MSH. Plays a central role in energy homeostasis and somatic growth. This receptor is mediated by G proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase (cAMP).
