    HSPA9
  • UniProt:

    P38646
  • Cellular Locus:

    Mitochondrion , Nucleus, nucleolus
  • Reactivity:

    Human
  • Target Antigen:

    Stress-70 protein, mitochondrial
  • Target:

    HspA9
  • Type:

    Protein
  • Applications:

    WB
  • Concentration:

    Lot Specific

    20 mM Tris
  • Function:

Chaperone protein which plays an important role in mitochondrial iron-sulfur cluster (ISC) biogenesis. Interacts with and stabilizes ISC cluster assembly proteins FXN, NFU1, NFS1 and ISCU (PubMed:26702583). Regulates erythropoiesis via stabilization of ISC assembly (PubMed:21123823, PubMed:26702583). May play a role in the control of cell proliferation and cellular aging (By similarity). {UniProtKB:P38647, PubMed:21123823, PubMed:26702583}.
  • Storage Conditions:

Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store at or below - 20°C for longer periods of time. Addition of a carrier protein (such as 0.1% HSA or BSA is recommended for long-term storage.
  • Specificity:

    HspA9
  • Formulation:

    Sterile-filtered colorless solution in 20mM Tris-Hcl, pH 8.0, 0.5mM DTT and 10% glycerol.
  • Buffer pH:

    pH 8.0
  • Target Background:

HspA9, a memer of the Hsp70 family, encodes a heat-shock cognate protein that is involved in the control of cell proliferation and acts as a chaperone. HspA9 is located on chromosome 5, band q31, a region thatis often deleted in myeloid leukemias and myelodysplasia, making it a candidate tumor suppressor gene. HspA9 suppresses nuclear translocation, transcriptional activation, and control centrosome-duplication functions of p53.
