Chordin is a secreted glycoprotein that regulates dorsoventral patterning during gastrulation. Chordin functions as a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) antagonist that blocks BMP ventralizing activity by binding to the BMPs and inhibiting their interaction with their receptors.Synonyms:
