Target
Nuclear phosphoprotein which forms a tight but non-covalently linked complex with the JUN/AP-1 transcription factor. On TGF-beta activation, forms a multimeric SMAD3/SMAD4/JUN/FOS complex, at the AP1/SMAD-binding site to regulate TGF-beta-mediated signaling (By similarity) . Has a critical function in regulating the development of cells destined to form and maintain the skeleton. It is thought to have an important role in signal transduction, cell proliferation and differentiation. In growing cells, activates phospholipid synthesis, possibly by activating CDS1 and PI4K2A. This activity requires Tyr-dephosphorylation and association with the endoplasmic reticulum.

Assay Principle
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to V-Fos FBJ Murine Osteosarcoma Viral Oncogene Homolog (FOS) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to V-Fos FBJ Murine Osteosarcoma Viral Oncogene Homolog (FOS) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain V-Fos FBJ Murine Osteosarcoma Viral Oncogene Homolog (FOS), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of V-Fos FBJ Murine Osteosarcoma Viral Oncogene Homolog (FOS) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
