  • Reproducibility:

Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay) : 3 samples with low, middle and high level High Sensitive Tau Protein (MAPT) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays) : 3 samples with low, middle and high level High Sensitive Tau Protein (MAPT) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. CV (%) = SD/meanX100 Intra-Assay: CV<10% Inter-Assay: CV<12%
  • Gene Name:

    Microtubule-associated protein tau
  • Gene Aliases:

AI413597; AW045860; microtubule-associated protein tau; Mta; Mtapt; neurofibrillary tangle protein; paired helical filament-tau; PHF-tau; Ta; Tau.
  • Gene ID:

    17762
  • Accession Number:

    NP_001033698.1
  • Reactivity:

    Mouse|Mus musculus
  • Target:

Promotes microtubule assembly and stability, and might be involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity. The C-terminus binds axonal microtubules while the N-terminus binds neural plasma membrane components, suggesting that tau functions as a linker protein between both. Axonal polarity is predetermined by tau localization (in the neuronal cell) in the domain of the cell body defined by the centrosome. The short isoforms allow plasticity of the cytoskeleton whereas the longer isoforms may preferentially play a role in its stabilization.
  • Type:

    ELISA Kit
  • Applications:

    Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent assay-Sandwich
  • Detection Method:

    Colorimetric
  • Assay Principle:

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to High Sensitive Tau Protein (MAPT) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to High Sensitive Tau Protein (MAPT) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain High Sensitive Tau Protein (MAPT), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of High Sensitive Tau Protein (MAPT) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
