  Dimethyl sebacate was used in the biosynthesis of oligomeric sebacates, lubricant oils. Dimethyl sebacate was a convenient starting material for cyclization of N-Succinylglycine dimethyl ester. Dimethyl sebacate was also used to prepare polytetramethylene sebacate.
