Description
GSK2256098 (GTPL7939) is a focal adhesion kinase-1 (FAK-1) inhibitor with potential antineoplastic and antiangiogenic activity. FAK is normally activated by integrin binding to extra cellular matrix and might be upregulated and activated in various tumor types. This inhibition of FAK-1 kinase prevents downstream signal transduction pathways mediated by integrin activation including ERK, JNK/MAPK and PI3/Akt thus inhibiting tumor cell migration, proliferation and survival.
