About recombinant protein
Lungkine is a CXC chemokine that is expressed in lung epithelial cells and, to a lesser extent, in certain fetal tissues. No human homolog has been identified and a specific cell surface receptor has not yet been found. Lungkine expression in lung tissue is elevated in response to inflammation, at which time it acts to specifically recruit neutrophils and direct them into the lung airway. Recombinant murine Lungkine is a 16.3 kDa CXC chemokine consisting of 142 amino acid residues, including four conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines.

Activity
Biological activity was determined by its ability to chemoattract human neutrophils using a concentration range of 20.0 - 100.0 ng/mL.

Keep at
The lyophilized Lungkine recombinant protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20˚C. Reconstituted Lungkine is stable for at least 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20˚C. As with any protein, exposing Lungkine recombinant protein to repeated freeze / thaw cycles is not recommended. When working with proteins care should be taken to keep recombinant protein at a cool and stable temperature.
