  • Description
Most polyclonal antibodies pabs are raised in rabbits as rabbit polyclonal antibodies. Radio Immuno Assays are radioactive linked immunosorbent assays that even more than ELISA kits can detect very small levels of antigens. Small proteins, and hormones in blood or serum can be detected by RIAs. The result will be expressed in a XY graphic in which the ration is inverse to the signal.
  • About
Rabbits are used for polyclonal antibody production by Penlabs. Rabbit antibodies are very stable and can be stored for several days at room temperature. Penlabs adds sodium azide and glycerol to enhance the stability of the rabbit polyclonal antibodies. Anti-human, anti mouse antibodies to highly immunogenic selected peptide sequences are" monoclonal like" since the epitope to which they are directed is less than 35 amino acids long. Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats. RIAs or EIAs or ELISAs for detection and quantification for specific antigenes

Scope note: An in vitro allergen radioimmunoassay in which allergens are coupled to an immunosorbent. The coupled allergens bind the IgE in the sera of patients which in turn binds radioisotope-labeled anti-IMMUNOGLOBULIN E antibodies.
