Additonal Descriptionb-12 is useful for identifying human mucin-like carcinoma antigen (MCA) produced by various tumors and certain healthy glandular cells. In combination with other markers for inflammation staging or investigating neo-vascularization processes, b-12 is a valuable tool for studying tumor growth or regression. MCA is a 350 kD glycoprotein with the typical biochemical characteristics of mucin-like glycoproteins (sialomucins) which protect surfaces. Antibody b-12 binds to the protein backbone of MCA, not to the large number of carbohydrate side chains. Application: IHC (f, p)

PropertiesHuman proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
