Long description
c-erbB-2 is a receptor tyrosine kinase. It exhibits extracellular domains with two cysteine-rich sequences, and a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain flanked by large hydrophilic tails that carry several tyrosine autophosphorylation sites. Approximately 25% of primary breast and ovarian tumors were found to overexpress the protein. This antibody reacts with the intact cells,1,2 slightly increases (~2-fold) the tyrosine kinase activity,1 accelerates (~50%) c-erbB-2 turnover,1 and inhibits (~80%) tumorigenic growth in CD1/nude mice of N87 human gastric carcinoma cell line overexpressing c-erbB-2.1

Antibody s suited for
Antibody can be used for Western blotting (5-10 µg/ml). Detects an approximately 42 kDa band on RH7777 cells transfected with full-length EDG-6. Due to low expression of EDG receptors, we recommend use of Pierce Femto Signal substrate for western blot development. Optimal concentration should be evaluated by serial dilutions.

Test
Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
