DescriptionTransforming growth factor a is upregulated in some human cancers. It is produced in macrophages, brain cells, and keratinocytes, and induces epithelial development. It is closely related to EGF, and can also bind to the EGF receptor with similar effects . TGF alpha stimulates neural cell proliferation in the adult injured brain. TG Falpha was cited in the 2001 NIH Stem Cell report to the U.S. Congress as promising evidence for the ability of adult stem cells to restore function in neurodegenerative disorders.
-
ImmunogenAmino acids 73-89 (CHSGYVGARCEHADLLA-human) were used as the immunogen for this TGF alpha antibody.
-
StorageAfter reconstitution, the TGF alpha antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
-
Additional descriptionThe Anti-TGF alpha is a α- or alpha protein sometimes glycoprotein present in blood.
-
PropertiesIf you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
