DescriptionThe Drosophila embryonic protein SNAI1, commonly known as Snail, is a zinc finger transcriptional repressor which downregulates the expression of ectodermal genes within the mesoderm. And it is located in 16q24.3. The nuclear protein encoded by this gene is structurally similar to the Drosophila snail protein, and is also thought to be critical for mesoderm formation in the developing embryo. At least two variants of a similar processed pseudogene have been found on chromosome 2. It is studied that SNAIL gene may show a role in recurrence of breast cancer by downregulating E-cadherin and inducing anepithelial to mesenchymal transition.
-
ImmunogenAmino acids AAFPGLGQVPKQLAQLSEAKDLQARKAFN of human SNAIL were used as the immunogen for the SNAIL antibody.
-
StorageAfter reconstitution, the SNAIL antibody may be kept for up to one month refrigerated at +4 degrees C.For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
-
PropertiesIf you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
