DescriptionMacrophage Colony Stimulating Factor 1, also called MCSF or CSF1, is a hematopoietic growth factor that is involved in the proliferation, differentiation, and survival ofmonocytes, macrophages, and bone marrow progenitor cells. MCSF affects macrophages and monocytes in several ways, including stimulating increased phagocytic and chemotactic activity, and increased tumour cell cytotoxicity. The role of MCSF is not only restricted to the monocyte/macrophage cell lineage. By interacting with its membrane receptor (CSF1R or MCSFR encoded by the c-fms proto-oncogene), MCSF also modulates the proliferation of earlier hematopoietic progenitors and influence numerous physiological processes involved in immunology, metabolism, fertility and pregnancy.
-
ImmunogenAmino acids 33-262 of mouse Colony stimulating factor 1 were used as the immunogen for the Csf-1 antibody.
-
StorageAfter reconstitution, the Csf-1 antibody may be kept for up to one month refrigerated at +4 degrees C.For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

PropertiesIf you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.

Additional descriptionColonies can be formed by stimulating factors or recombinant GM-CSF and CSFs activity expressed in Units compared to a standard. Aplha, transcription related growth factors and stimulating factors or repressing nuclear factors are complex subunits of proteins involved in cell differentiation. Complex subunit associated factors are involved in hybridoma growth, Eosinohils, eritroid proliferation and derived from promotor binding stimulating subunits on the DNA binding complex. NFKB 105 subunit for example is a polypetide gene enhancer of genes in B cells.
