DescriptionGhrelin is the ligand for growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR). Induces the release of growth hormone from the pituitary. Has an appetite-stimulating effect, induces adiposity and stimulates gastric acid secretion. Involved in growth regulation.
-
ImmunogenA portion of amino acids 11-43 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the GHRL antibody.
-
StorageAliquot the GHRL antibody and store frozen at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized.
-
PropertiesIf you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
-
Additional descriptionGhrelin, GHRL gene, obestatin prepropeptide or lenomorelin from ghrelinergic cells in the gastrointestinal tract. GHRL is a neuropeptide in the central nervous system regulating appetite. Ghrelin is regulating the distribution and rate of use of body energy.
