Description
Complement Factor D is a protein which in humans is encoded by the CFD gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the trypsin family of peptidases. The encoded protein is a component of the alternative complement pathway best known for its role in humoral suppression of infectious agents. It is also a serine protease that is secreted by adipocytes into the bloodstream. And it stimulates glucose transport for triglyceride accumulation in fats cells and inhibits lipolysis. Finally, the encoded protein has a high level of expression in fat, suggesting a role for adipose tissue in immune system biology.
-
Immunogen
Amino acids 30-235 of mouse Factor D were used as the immunogen for the Factor D antibody.
-
Storage
After reconstitution, the Factor D antibody may be kept for up to one month refrigerated at +4 degrees C.For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
-
Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.

Additional description
Aplha, transcription related growth factors and stimulating factors or repressing nuclear factors are complex subunits of proteins involved in cell differentiation. Complex subunit associated factors are involved in hybridoma growth, Eosinohils, eritroid proliferation and derived from promotor binding stimulating subunits on the DNA binding complex. NFKB 105 subunit for example is a polypetide gene enhancer of genes in B cells.
